Magnified Wine Corks

I am intrigued by the structure of the wine corks and question why I collect them. I took photographs of them from every angle. I observed wear and tear from trying to open a bottle and typography, color, and symbols. When I looked closer at each image, I started noticing the texture of each of them and observed how different they were.

For my final application, I created posters using macro photography of the textures, the name of the winery, the year it was founded, and the content from a google image search. The main intention of these posters is to make the viewer question what they are looking at and give more meaning to an object that can be so insignificant.
